In 2000 AVP-WA commenced the Help Increase the Peace Project (HIPP). This is nonviolence training for primary school children and we have run programmes in several schools. We currently offer workshops to schools who are interested but are limited by the availability of facilitators during school hours. The workshop content is based on the Alternatives to Violence Project model but with adaptations which make it suitable for age groups from 6 to 12 years old. There is also a programme for younger children – TIP (Towards Increased Peace).
